Art Center hours are Mon. through Fri. 10:00 am to 5:00 pm (closed  Mondays after Dec. 22nd, but may call the Center to register),  Sat. 11:00 to 3:00 pm.

Class Schedules

The Art Center is gearing up for the upcoming Winter semester of classes and workshops that will begin in the middle of January. Winter schedules will be out mid-December.

Teen & Adult Workshop

Metalsmithed Christmas Gift Workshop
Hand wrought belt buckles, rings, stone set jewelry and holiday ornaments, all crafted from metal will be the focus during a special Metalsmith Christmas Gift workshop.

The workshop is slated for Saturday, December 6th from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Art Center of Battle Creek, 265 E. Emmett St. The instructor is the Art Center's Jewelry Metalsmith instructor Charis Fitzpatrick.

In this jewelry workshop, students will be working with brass, copper, nickel silver and sterling silver sheet metal.  The metals will be used in order to create gifts as simple as band rings or as complicated as belt buckles and stone settings and tree ornaments.  Make a present for a family member or friend that is unique and straight from the heart. Students will be able to start and finish at least one project in the allocated time.  There is no experience necessary but those who have previous experience working with metal are welcome to attend. Please bring lots of ideas with you!!!
The cost for the workshop is members $40 non-members $55 plus $15 material fee. Pre-register for this workshop by visiting the Art Center or by calling 269-962-9511.
